Hogs Head Stew well-constructed story. There are clever action scenes and humor, and Billy's character is relatable. By putting three of his ancestors in danger, Billy Nottage displays the moral dilemmas he faces because being the bottle-flipping champion is all that matters to him. When the Ghost Collector finds Billy's relatives, Billy learns how important family and friends are and that working together is important. Preteens will enjoy reading this book.

What a great book for preteens! The story is about young Billy Nottage who, along with his best friend, Tommo, aspires to be bottle flipping legends of Year Six. Unfortunately for them, they're both barely above average and can't seem to nail any really spectacular landings. All this changes when Billy gets a huge surprise when an old armoire is brought to the house from the home of an elderly aunt. It's left up in the attic where Billy practices his bottle flipping and before long Billy knocks into it and gets a huge shock by what is inside .... the ghosts of Billy's long-departed relatives! The story ends up following what happens when Billy befriends his dearly departed and then finds out they are in danger from someone called the Collector. Will Billy keep his eye on his goal of being the bottle flipping champion even at the risk of his newfound family members or will he do everything in his power to protect them? Read this wonderful tale and find out! I highly recommend this book for those around Billy's age ... 8-13. A wonderfully written and illustrated book that will have you on the edge of your seat at times!

Brilliant book!*

I believe that this book is actuley realy good I went in thinking it would be some kind of fairy tale that would just be predictable. but honestly the plot is great the twists are amazing and and it had that eagerness to realy hook me with the story and I can totaly agree with the moral of "you dont have to follow trends or be cool. do everyting for fun not for popularity" wich I can totaly agree on great book I would say 9 stars out of ten theres deadently better and Improvement to be made but for someones first book its radical and I can't realy find anything to conplain about so keep up the fantastic work!

...I think Janeen Bradly deserves more apresiation for this book that is thrilling exiting and an exalent book for kids with a well thought out moral. 

A Amazing Hogs Head stew Book Review*

…I love reading this story i reccomed this story for kids 9 and older this story always caught my adenchin. It definetly relatable to me because l alwayswanna be the best at netball. L defintly would rate this story a 9/10 it is a great story.

i would reccomend the story to people who likes long but interresting storys and i always will rember Janeen Bradley thank you.

…I loved this book because it was dramatic,funny and scary at the same time. Everyone has tried to trick their siblings so it is easy to relate. I lovedreading this book mostly because i like imagining what is happening.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a mixture of emotions, particularly anyone from 7-16…

A POT FULL OF INTREST*

Hogs Head Stew …was well made storyline wise i had lots of fun trying to figure out what will happen next and if there will beand what will happen if there is a plot twist to the story.One peice of feedback i would like to add is that i think the chapters need a bit more detail tothem so they can be longer because some chapters were only two pages long so i think there could be more detail to keep the chapters going a bitlonger.

…Every one has had fear of something but not everyone gets the help they need.Iwill always love the book and it would be great if Janeen would make another book.

I would recomend the book to any one who loves long storys and entertaining storys full of weiredness peticulary anyone between the ages of 7-20.Thank you Janeen bradley for such a wonderfull book to read.

…Iam sure anybody thts 11 to 13 years old tried bottleflip onepoint in their life.

I would recommend this story to anyone aged 9 to 12 as it is 219 pages anyone younger could get bored.This is a great story to read in school and if thisis anyones first Janeen Bradley book like me iam sure this leaves a good impression because it did on me.This book is 4/5 stars.

…This book is a very funny book to read as a class because of the type of style the book is…I love this book a lot because of mainly the way it is set out and the the characters act to have fun or even to be in fear panic and then the dangercomes and occurs…Also I rate this book (FIVE STAR RATING!!!!) for the action and the way thecharacters act and are brought into the book slowly and also the way the book ends is incredible.

SUDDEN STORY OF MAGIC!*

…this story was chosen by our teacher because he knowswe like funny stories and he also like speaking in different voices.

I love this story because, alot of the parts in the book are sudden for example when Uncle Harry gets sucked up the tube. Also i like how Billy savesUncle Harry, Aunt Millie and Aunt Hester from the ghost collecter's tube useing a stew called hogs head stew.

I would highly recommend this book to any one that absoulutly love sudden stories just like this one.I would also like to menten that this book isamazing at the end, beging and middle of the story.So it is very appropriete for kids at the age 7-16.
